Nacional Signs Brazilian Midfielder Igor Liziero

Nacional has just added a new face to their team. It’s a move that brings a familiar name back to European football. The club’s president, Rui Alves, shared the news with Record. They’ve signed Igor Liziero, a 27-year-old Brazilian midfielder.

Liziero isn’t new to this side of the Atlantic. He played in Switzerland’s top league with Yverdon. During his time there, he showed what he could do on the field. He played in 29 games, scoring three goals and helping with five assists. That kind of experience can make a real difference for a squad.

This transfer also sets up a nice reunion. Liziero will join Paulinho Bóia at Nacional. They were teammates before at São Paulo, back in Brazil. Liziero grew up in São Paulo’s youth system, a big club in his home country. He also wore the jerseys for Coritiba and Internacional, two other well-known Brazilian teams. His talent was recognized early; he played for Brazil’s national teams at the Under-17 and Under-23 levels.
