A high-stakes transfer negotiation is underway for promising Danish midfielder Victor Froholdt. His club, Copenhagen, confirmed recently that they received a significant offer from a Portuguese team. The talks are buzzing around an eye-watering 18 million euro figure.
Sources, including the newspaper Record, point to FC Porto as the club leading the charge for Froholdt. Copenhagen released a statement, making it clear they did get an offer from a Portuguese side. They said negotiations are happening now. However, the club also added that it is not a sure thing a deal will be reached. They stated they have no more comments for now and will announce if an agreement happens.
Froholdt has been a key player for Copenhagen. Last season, he stepped onto the field 53 times. He scored six goals and helped set up three others. His strong performance caught the attention of many big clubs.
Market experts at ‘Transfermarkt’ estimate his value at 12 million euros. But clubs seem willing to pay much more for his talent. Earlier this summer, Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt tried to sign him, offering 17 million euros. Copenhagen turned that down. English club Tottenham also had Froholdt on their radar, showing how highly he is rated across Europe.
