Chespirito Bioseries Second Season: Actors Unsure, Roberto Gómez Fernández Clarifies

The show “Chespirito: Sin querer queriendo” is currently on air. Fans are watching the life of Roberto Gómez Bolaños unfold. Only eight episodes are planned for the series. Many wonder how his amazing journey from the 1960s and 70s can be fully told. This short run has left viewers wanting more.

So, will there be a second season? Actors Pablo Cruz Guerrero and Miguel Islas, who play Chespirito and Ramón Valdés, recently spoke about this. They were on Marco Antonio Regil’s podcast. Miguel Islas made it clear they only signed on for one season. “I don’t know, honestly, we were hired for one season and the story will end like this, and ‘boom’,” he shared. Pablo Cruz just made gestures, hinting at hope for more episodes.

The actors shared that Roberto Gómez Fernández and his sister Paulina Gómez produce the show. These producers haven’t told them about a second season. Still, the cast wants fans to stick around for the very last episode. They promised the ending won’t feel rushed or incomplete.

Juan Lecanda, who plays “Marcos Barragán” in the series, also expressed his thoughts. This character is inspired by Carlos Villagrán, known as Quico. He told Saga Light he would love to keep playing the character. “Of course, the idea is that more work comes from this,” he said. He added, “On my part and with God’s favor, I want to keep playing Quico. And my castmates from the Chespirito series, these characters too.” But his words don’t confirm a new season.

The biggest question mark comes from Roberto Gómez Fernández himself. Chespirito’s son recently sat down with journalist Mara Patricia Castañeda. He talked about the goal of the bioseries, which is airing on HBO Max. He also mentioned other projects in the works.

When asked if more films or shows were coming, Gómez Fernández said, “Yes, there are several things on the way.” He then talked about a trailer for an animated “Chapulín Colorado” series. He explained it’s not just the old show animated. It has big changes. “We are already making the second season,” he added. This statement caused some confusion. Fans were hoping for more of the live-action bioseries. He noted he’s not in charge of where it airs. He would rather wait to be told.

He stressed that his main job is to “protect the legacy and work” of his father. This means looking after Chespirito’s memory as a person and artist. It also means caring for the projects that made his father famous. “What he created has a fantastic ability to grow, and we are working on that with great care,” Gómez Fernández stated.

The “Chespirito” bioseries took four years to produce. Its second-to-last episode airs on July 17th. The grand finale is set for July 24th. Fans will soon find out how this first chapter of Chespirito’s life story wraps up.
