It was a scene many divorced couples can only dream of achieving. Hollywood stars Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner recently showed off their strong co-parenting bond. They were seen together cheering on their kids at a baseball game in Boston.
On Friday, July 11, Affleck, 52, and Garner, 53, took in a Boston Red Sox game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Fenway Park. They sat right up front in the stands. Two of their three children, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13, joined them for the family outing. Their eldest daughter, Violet, was not with them at the game.
The public got a glimpse of this sweet moment. Images shared on MLB’s X account showed the family enjoying the game. NESN announcer Dave O’Brien even pointed them out during the broadcast. He called them "a big Red Sox family," highlighting their presence together.
A Harmonious Co-Parenting Journey
Affleck and Garner were one of Hollywood’s most talked-about couples when they married in 2005. After a decade together, they separated in 2015 and finalized their divorce three years later, in 2018. Despite the split, they have built an admirable friendship and a smooth co-parenting relationship. Their ability to work together for their children’s well-being is often praised.
Affleck has often spoken highly of Garner’s role as a mother. In a March interview with GQ, he expressed his appreciation. "I’m very lucky to have a great co-parent, Jennifer Garner, the kids’ mom, who’s wonderful and great," he said. "We work well together."
Sources close to the stars have backed up this view. An insider told a prominent entertainment outlet in August 2024 that Affleck and Garner are good friends. They share an excellent co-parenting dynamic. The source noted that their children are always their top priority, and the ex-spouses "also get along very well."

The Pearl Harbor actor has consistently spoken about how much he loves being a father. Back in September 2010, during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, he shared his joy. "I’m madly in love," he said about parenthood. "I have the best family… I couldn’t be luckier. I’ve really landed where I was supposed to be." He added that he’s "in a really wonderful place and so I’m very grateful."
His admiration for Garner as a mother is equally strong. In March 2016, he told E! News, "Jen is a superhero mom." He emphasized how lucky he felt to have her as a partner in raising their children. "We do our best, we put them first and that’s what we do," he concluded. It’s a clear message about their shared goal: making sure their kids thrive.
