OnePlus has just pulled back the curtain on its newest Nord series phones, and they’re quite a pair. The Nord 5 steps up with a powerful chip and a stunning display. Its sibling, the Nord CE5, grabs attention with an absolutely massive battery. These new phones show OnePlus is serious about bringing top features to more people.
OnePlus Nord 5
The Nord 5 boasts a vibrant 6.83-inch AMOLED screen. It displays crisp Full HD+ images. Swiping and scrolling feels incredibly smooth thanks to its 144 Hz refresh rate. The screen can get very bright, hitting 1,800 nits, making it easy to see even in strong sunlight. Tough Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protects the front. You can quickly unlock the phone using the fingerprint scanner hidden under the display.

Under the hood, the Nord 5 runs on a speedy Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. This chip is built using a 4-nanometer process and can reach speeds of 3.0 GHz. It works alongside quick LPDDR5X RAM, with options for 8GB or 12GB. For storage, you can pick between 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.1 space.
This phone comes with OxygenOS 15, which is OnePlus’s software based on Android 15. It includes several smart OnePlus AI tools. Imagine an AI Eraser to remove unwanted parts from photos. There’s also AI Summary to quickly get the main points from long articles. AI Reply helps you respond to messages faster. The phone even uses Google’s Gemini models for some of its smart features. For busy multitaskers, there’s Open Canvas. This feature lets you use many apps at once, a clever idea first seen on the OnePlus Open foldable phone in 2023.

For snapping photos, the Nord 5 has a 50-megapixel main camera on the back. It uses a Sony LYT-700 sensor and has optical image stabilization to keep your shots steady. This camera can capture RAW HDR photos, giving you more editing control. It also uses the special Real Tone algorithm, just like the flagship OnePlus 13, to make colors look natural. Beside it sits an 80-megapixel ultrawide camera, perfect for fitting more into your frame. The front camera, a Samsung JN5 sensor, takes clear 50-megapixel selfies.
A large 6,800 mAh battery powers the Nord 5. It supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, getting you back to full power quickly. You can even use it to charge other gadgets at 5W.

You can grab the Nord 5 right now from the official OnePlus website. It comes in three cool colors: Marble Sands, Dry Ice, and Phantom Grey.

Like its sibling, it has an optical fingerprint sensor built into the screen. For selfies, it uses a 16-megapixel Sony IMX480 sensor.

Powering the Nord CE5 is a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset, made with a 4-nanometer process. This chip can hit processing speeds of up to 3.35 GHz. It pairs with LPDDR5X RAM, available in 8GB or 12GB. Storage options include 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1. Just like the Nord 5, this phone runs on OxygenOS 15.
On the back, the Nord CE5 sports a 50-megapixel main camera. It uses a Sony LYT-600 sensor and can also capture RAW HDR photos with the Real Tone feature. An 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, using an OmniVision OV08D10 sensor, completes the rear camera setup.

The biggest highlight of the Nord CE5 is its incredible 7,100 mAh battery. This capacity is more often found in small tablets. OnePlus claims this huge battery can deliver over 27 hours of continuous YouTube video playback. You could also browse Instagram for more than 18 hours. For gamers, it promises over 9 hours of non-stop play. It also supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging. Plus, it has bypass charging, which lets the phone use power directly from the adapter. This helps keep the battery healthier during long gaming sessions.

The OnePlus Nord CE5 is available in three distinct colors: Black Infinity, Marble Mist, and Nexus Blue.
