Meta found real success with its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. They offered smooth features at a price most people could afford. The company plans to release a new version of these popular glasses by late 2025. It seems Meta is just getting started with its wearable tech ambitions.
Now, a well-known tipster has shared details about Meta’s next big step. Arsène Lupin, known as @MysteryLupin on X, posted images of a new device called ‘Hypernova.’ This gadget is a high-end pair of smart glasses. It will have a built-in display and respond to hand movements. Hypernova looks to be a premium product, likely with a premium price tag.
The leaked images give us a peek at Hypernova’s design. They also show a special controller worn on the user’s wrist. This setup suggests a new way to interact with the glasses.

This device, known internally as ‘Ceres,’ is built for natural hand gestures. Imagine scrolling through a screen by turning your wrist. Or perhaps choosing an item with a simple pinch of your fingers. Meta explored similar ideas for its unreleased AR headset, Orion. That project never launched, but the technology seems to live on in Hypernova.
The wrist controller will work with touch-sensitive areas on the glasses frame. This means users won’t need to rely on voice commands as much. It offers more discreet ways to control the device.
Hypernova reportedly features a small display in the lower-right corner of one lens. This screen will show a home page with app icons. Think camera, gallery, or maps. It will also display notifications from apps like WhatsApp or Messenger. The glasses are said to have an improved camera too, capable of AR features. This is a clear upgrade from the current Ray-Ban Meta models.

Rumors suggest Hypernova could cost between $1,000 and $1,400. That’s a big jump from the Ray-Ban Meta, which starts around $299.99. We might see Hypernova launch as early as 2027.
If these reports are true, Hypernova will become a strong competitor for Apple. Apple is also planning to release its Vision series of Mixed Reality headsets around 2027 or 2028. The rumored price range for Hypernova even lines up with earlier whispers about Apple’s potential Vision Pro Air. It looks like the smart wearable market is about to get very interesting.
