Tournament Rules and Stages
The Play-in
The Play-in stage features four teams vying for two open spots in the main event. Teams must win two best-of-five matches to advance. These matches use a special “fearless draft” rule. The first two battles kick off this Friday, June 27th. FURIA will face G2 Esports at 16:00. Later, at 21:00, Bilibili Gaming will play against GAM Esports. These times are set for the Brasília timezone.
The Playoffs
The two teams that make it through the Play-in stage will join six other top teams in the Playoffs. This stage uses a double-elimination bracket. That means a team is out of the competition after losing two matches. All games, including the grand final, will be best-of-five. The team that wins it all gets a direct ticket to Worlds 2025, the global championship event.
The Prize Money
The total prize pool for MSI 2025 is a massive $2 million. The team that takes home the championship title will pocket $500,000. Even the team that finishes last will still receive $80,000. That’s some serious money changing hands in the world of esports.
