Nina Woof, a US-based brand, is making waves in the pet accessories market with its vegan and sustainable products. After consolidating its presence in over 10 international markets and reaching a global valuation of 4 million euros, the company is now setting its sights on Spain. With three rounds of funding under its belt, totaling 600,000 euros, Nina Woof is poised to hit 1 million euros in revenue by 2025, with the Spanish market expected to drive 15-20% of its global growth.
The company was founded in 2022 by entrepreneurs Andrea Núñez, Pedro Padierna, and Alaide Martínez-Parente, with a mission to offer high-quality products that combine sustainability, design, and animal welfare. All of its products are vegan, cruelty-free, and made from recycled, organic, or biodegradable materials. Best-sellers include GPS collars, vegan leashes, compostable bags, and a line of dog balms.
Growth Plans
Nina Woof’s entry into the Spanish market is part of a broader expansion strategy in Southern Europe. From its Madrid hub, the company will manage its e-commerce platform, as well as its network of partnerships with marketplaces and physical stores, focusing on sustainable concept stores. With nearly 10 million households in Spain owning pets, Nina Woof is targeting urban millennials and Gen Z consumers who value design and sustainability.
The company is committed to environmental initiatives, including reforestation, ocean cleanups, and ESG-based manufacturing. It plans to launch new product lines, obtain B Corp certification by 2030, and maintain a carbon-neutral and plastic-free operation. “We don’t believe you have to choose between profitability and sustainability,” says Andrea Núñez. “We want to show that you can start a business with impact and be part of a new generation of brands that put purpose and planet at the heart of the business.”
In just two years, Nina Woof has gone from being a startup to being present in markets like the UK, Germany, Italy, France, the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Dubai. The Spanish market is key to this expansion, with the pet sector generating 3 billion euros in annual revenue, according to the Spanish Pet Identification Network (REIAC). With its sights set on rapid growth, Nina Woof is ready to take the Spanish market by storm.
