Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis had a heated exchange with manager Nuno Espírito Santo on the pitch after their Premier League draw with Leicester. The confrontation didn’t go unnoticed, and former player and manager Gary Neville was quick to weigh in on social media.
A Scathing Response
Neville took to X/Twitter to slam Marinakis’ behavior, calling it “scandalous” and suggesting Espírito Santo negotiate his exit immediately. “The Forest fans, players, and manager do not deserve that,” Neville posted. Espírito Santo responded to Neville’s criticism, but chose not to escalate the matter.

“I’m not going to comment much on this,” Espírito Santo said, showing respect for Neville despite their differing stances. He also reminded Neville that he had been in Neville’s shoes as a manager, having taken over at Valencia after Neville was sacked.
