Hema Malini Stuns with Kathak and Bharatnatyam at 76

The venerable Bollywood actress Hema Malini stole the show at the Vrindavan Mahotsav with her captivating Odissi and Kathak dance performances, mesmerizing everyone in attendance. Hosted by renowned flautist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, this annual event was held in Bhubaneswar on Friday to celebrate Holi. The occasion was also graced by Sambit Patra, the Member of Parliament from Puri and national spokesperson of the BJP, who presented Hema Malini with a beautifully crafted silver artifact of Lord Jagannath.

Donning a stunning yellow dress, the actress from the iconic movie Sholay, left the audience spellbound with her elegant expressions and dance postures. Prior to her performance, Hema Malini shared her experience of visiting Odisha with ANI on Thursday, expressing her delight at being part of the festival and her strong connection with the state. She mentioned that she was invited by Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia to perform at the annual event, which is traditionally held during Holi.

Later, Hema Malini took to the stage in a breathtaking blue and red Bharatnatyam dress, dazzling the audience with her charm. Her fans were overjoyed, and several videos showcasing her mesmerizing performance have gone viral on social media, garnering widespread appreciation.

Delighted to be in Odisha

Speaking about her visit, Hema Malini said, “I’ve come here to celebrate Holi. Tomorrow, I have a show at the annual function of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia’s gurukul. This is an annual event held during Holi, and I was invited to perform this year. Ratikant ji has also invited me to visit the Sri Sri University; he’s a good friend of mine.”

A Long-Standing Friendship

Hema Malini further added, “We’ve known each other for years, and I have a close relationship with Kelucharan Mahapatra. Whenever I visit Odisha, I feel wonderful… the state is so lush and peaceful. I plan to visit Jagannath Puri soon and seek Lord Jagannath’s blessings before returning to Mumbai.” Her heartfelt words reflected her deep affection for the state and its people, making her performance all the more special and memorable.
