According to insiders from China, specifically Digital Chat Station, who recently posted on Weibo, a major Chinese social media platform, Honor – the brand that split from Huawei to aggressively expand into the global market – is gearing up to launch its mid-range smartphone series, the Honor 400, in China. This launch will also unveil the key specs of both the standard Honor 400 and the Honor 400 Pro.
Starting with the standard Honor 400, it’s expected to feature a 6.55-inch flat OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, which might be rebranded as the Snapdragon 7 Elite. This represents a significant upgrade from the Honor 300, launched in 2024, which was equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset that had a top speed of 2.63 GHz. This move suggests Honor’s commitment to enhancing performance in its successive models.
In contrast, the Honor 400 Pro will boast a 6.69-inch curved OLED screen on all four sides, also with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, but it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Notably, this is the same chipset used in the Honor 300 Pro, which was launched in 2024 and has a processing speed of up to 3.3 GHz. The choice to use this chipset in the Honor 400 Pro indicates a focus on delivering high-performance capabilities in its higher-end models.
Both versions of the Honor 400 are expected to feature an upgraded camera sensor for enhanced photography, a metal frame for added durability, and a high-capacity battery with a capacity of over 7,000 mAh. These enhancements aim to address common user needs for better camera performance, device longevity, and longer battery life.
Additionally, there are reports that Honor is developing a new flagship model, the GT Pro, which will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with a top speed of 4.32 GHz, featuring a flat-screen design and a large battery. The GT Pro is anticipated to launch in mid-2025, further expanding Honor’s lineup with a focus on high-end features and performance.
