A dramatic scene unfolded at Denver International Airport in Colorado, USA, on March 14, 2023, when an American Airlines Boeing 737-800 plane was forced to make an emergency landing due to engine issues. As the plane touched down, a fire broke out, and smoke billowed from the aircraft, prompting the evacuation of all 172 passengers and six crew members on board.

According to reports from CNN, the harrowing incident occurred when American Airlines Flight 1006, which had taken off from nearby Colorado Springs and was headed to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in Texas, was diverted to Denver due to engine trouble. At around 5:15 pm local time, the pilots reported that the Boeing 737-800’s engine was experiencing vibrations, leading to the decision to make an emergency landing. Upon touchdown, the plane caught fire, with flames visible near the underside of the aircraft as passengers scrambled to exit.

The evacuation was swift, with some passengers using inflatable slides to exit the plane while others climbed out onto the wings. Many were seen carrying their luggage, and some were visibly shaken as they stood near the burning aircraft. Fortunately, all passengers were safely ushered to the terminal building, where they were met by emergency responders and airline staff.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that all 172 passengers and six crew members were safely evacuated and accounted for. The agency has launched an investigation into the cause of the incident, which will involve a thorough examination of the aircraft and its systems. As the investigation unfolds, American Airlines has assured the public that the safety of its passengers and crew is its top priority, and the airline is cooperating fully with the FAA’s inquiry.
