The League of Legends competition is heating up, with day four of the First Stand (FST) taking place on Thursday. Two teams have already secured their spots in the playoffs, while another is still dependent on the performances of other teams to make it to the next stage. The FST, which kicked off on March 10 in South Korea, features the best teams from each region, with five teams competing and only four advancing to the playoffs.
The First Team to Qualify for the Playoffs
The Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) team, representing the LCK (LoL Champions Korea), has become the first team to qualify for the playoffs. Their journey to the top was not without its challenges, however. In their first game against Karmine Corp (KC), HLE dominated from start to finish, destroying the enemy Nexus in just 35 minutes. However, KC surprised everyone with a win in the second game, marking HLE’s first loss in the competition. Luckily, HLE bounced back in the decisive match, with Choi “Zeus” Woo-je leading his team to victory.

TL Struggles to Secure a Spot
Team Liquid (TL) had a tough time securing their spot in the playoffs. In their match against CTBC Flying Oyster (CFO), TL failed to gain momentum, losing the first game in just 29 minutes. Although they put up a good fight, CFO took the lead after 15 minutes and won the game. The second game didn’t go in TL’s favor either, with CFO winning 2-0 and securing their spot in the playoffs.

The End of the Group Stage
The final day of the group stage is set to take place on Friday, with only HLE and CFO having secured their spots in the playoffs so far. TL and TES will need to win their upcoming matches to qualify, while KC will be watching from the sidelines, hoping that the results will go in their favor. The competition is fierce, and the teams will have to bring their A-game if they want to make it to the next stage. Will HLE and CFO continue to dominate, or will other teams rise to the challenge? Only time will tell.
