Ibai Llanos Reacts to Movistar Koi’s LEC Elimination by Fnatic

The Spanish League of Legends community experienced a rollercoaster of emotions yesterday, particularly with the elimination of Movistar Koi against Fnatic. While it was a tough day for fans, there’s a silver lining – Oscarinin and Razork will move on to the next round, where they’ll face Karmine Corp this afternoon.

One of the most significant moments came when Ibai Llanos, owner of Movistar Koi, shared his thoughts on the team’s performance. In a co-streaming session, he discussed the defeat and what went wrong. Ibai acknowledged that the team didn’t quite meet expectations, stating, “We have not been at the level” required to win against Fnatic. He commended the opposing team, saying, “I think they have been better than us all afternoon, except obviously the third game.” That third game was a highlight, potentially the best of the season, but ultimately, it wasn’t enough to secure a win.

Ibai expressed his disappointment and frustration, acknowledging that the team had a tough time. “We could fight it, but we were all the time fighting a little to the epic, 5000 below, and Fnatic has been better.” Despite this, he encouraged fans to support the players, who will now have a significant break until March 29. He emphasized the importance of sending love and encouragement to the team, who had high hopes for this split.

On a personal note, Ibai confessed that he’s sad but also feels the team can play better than they did. He’s disappointed by their performance, given the promising displays during the split, such as the third map or even parts of the first. Ibai believes the team’s level can be better and is hopeful that they can turn things around. He reflected on the past season, saying, “Last year was from more to less, and then we climb and again we go down a little, and see if this year it can be the opposite.”

In the end, Ibai’s words offered a mix of frustration, disappointment, and hope for the future. As the team takes a break, fans will be eagerly awaiting their return, hoping that they’ll come back stronger and more determined than ever. The LEC format change may not offer points or direct benefits for Worlds, but it’s an opportunity for teams to win and make a statement. For Movistar Koi, it’s a chance to regroup, recharge, and come back fighting.
