Ferrari has pulled out all the stops to document Lewis Hamilton’s arrival at the team, creating a cinematic experience that’s equal parts epic and intimate. The short film showcases the heptacampeón’s first moments at the factory and Fiorano as the Scuderia’s newest driver. You can almost sense the excitement and nervousness as Hamilton smiles, shakes hands with factory workers and office employees, many of whom seem starstruck by the legendary driver’s sudden presence. “I’ve been waiting for this day all my life, I’m very happy,” he says, beaming, before sharing a warm hug with team director Frederic Vasseur and chatting with his new engineer, Riccardo Adami, as well as company heads, president John Elkann and CEO Benedetto Vigna.
The atmosphere is electric, with a soundtrack that perfectly captures the mood of each moment. Take, for instance, Hamilton’s initial interactions with the team – it’s clear he’s thrilled to be there, and the employees are just as excited to meet him. As he makes his way through the factory, you can’t help but wonder what’s going through his mind – is he thinking about the season ahead, or simply soaking up the history and tradition of the Scuderia?
The Debut in Fiorano
The film’s second part takes us to Fiorano, where Hamilton experiences his first day on the track with the SF-23. “I’ve seen so many photos of this place,” he says, still sounding a bit awestruck, “yesterday morning I ran three laps on foot, it was fantastic.” He pauses, taking in the scenery, before his eyes light up with excitement. “There is a closed curve down there, and every time I looked at the boxes I thought: ‘Oh my God!'” Hamilton’s emotions are palpable as he stares out at the horizon, clearly pinching himself to see if it’s all real. “It is a great dream to be here, living this experience,” he says, his voice filled with a sense of wonder. “There are also mom and dad… It has been a long trip,” he adds, the weight of the moment settling in. It’s clear that this is more than just a new chapter in Hamilton’s career – it’s the realization of a lifelong dream.
