Pokémon TCG Pocket Leaks Suggest Johto Region Expansion Imminent

Pokémon TCG Pocket Continues to Thrive

The mobile version of the iconic collectible card game has garnered a substantial following, with enthusiasts enjoying both the thrill of opening packs and the excitement of card battles.

In addition to its existing success, the developer appears to be introducing new sets at regular intervals. One notable example is the ‘Singular Island’ expansion, released late last year, which introduced new cards featuring Mew, Celebi, and the Serperior evolutionary line, among others. Now, rumors are circulating about a potential second expansion.

Rumors Suggest Johto Region as the Next Expansion

As is often the case with this game, numerous leaks have surfaced, with most pointing to the same conclusion: The second expansion is expected to arrive at the end of January, featuring cards from the second generation, specifically the Johto region.

This would enable players to access the evolutionary lines of Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile, as well as the Legendary Dogs Entei, Suicune, and Raikou, and the iconic Lugia and Ho-Oh. Fans are eagerly anticipating this new expansion, which promises to bring fresh cards to collect and new opportunities to refine their decks for battle.

While nothing has been officially confirmed, rumors suggest that the new card addition will arrive between January 27 and 29. Furthermore, speculation indicates that there may be four distinct groups of cards, distributed across four envelopes, similar to the initial Charizard, Mewtwo, and Pikachu sets, with the added bonus of the Mew ‘mini expansion’ introduced in December.
