INDW vs IREW Bowler Under Scanner After First Match Ultimatum

INDW vs IREW ODI Series: The Ireland women’s cricket team is currently touring India for a three-match ODI series against the host team. The first match of this series took place on January 10 at Rajkot ground, which Team India won by 6 wickets. Prior to the second match, the bowling action of Ireland women’s team spin bowler Amy Maguire has been deemed suspicious, resulting in an ultimatum of 14 days to undergo an action check. Amy Maguire, just 18 years old, made her international cricket debut in 2023.

Amy’s Performance in the First ODI Match

Amy Maguire bowled 8 overs in the first match of the three-match ODI series against India, taking 3 wickets while conceding 57 runs. As per ICC rules, Amy Maguire must undergo action testing at an ICC-approved bowling testing center within the next 14 days. However, she can continue bowling until the test results are released. Amy Maguire has played 11 ODIs and 9 T20 matches, securing 25 wickets. Her best ODI bowling performance was against England last year, where she took 5 wickets for 19 runs.

Morrissey Replaces Maguire in Under-19 World Cup Squad

The ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to take place in Malaysia from January 18, where Amy Maguire was initially part of the Ireland team. Following concerns about her bowling action, she will no longer participate in the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Ireland Cricket has announced a replacement, with Morrissey joining the team in place of Amy Maguire.
