MSI’s Project Zero X: A Revolutionary Design with Some Concerns
At CES 2025, MSI unveiled its latest innovation, Project Zero X, a windowed desktop PC that takes cable management to a new level. The design concept is sleek and modern, but upon closer inspection, some potential issues arise.

Cable Management and Graphics Card Orientation
One of the standout features of Project Zero X is its cable management system, which relocates the cable management area to the bottom of the case. However, this design choice raises some concerns. The graphics card is rotated twice by 90 degrees, once in the longitudinal and once in the transverse axis, and stands upright in the case, with the fans facing the viewer. This orientation may cause issues with airflow and heat dissipation.

Potential Issues and Concerns
While the design of Project Zero X is innovative, it also raises some concerns. The cable management system may be complicated, and the graphics card’s fans may have difficulty sucking in enough air volume under load. Additionally, the air outlet on most graphics cards is directed towards the bottom of the case, which could lead to heat dissipation issues.
MSI’s Project Zero X is an experimental exhibit that shows promise, but it needs further refinement to address the potential issues and concerns. With some tweaks and adjustments, this design could become a game-changer in the world of desktop PCs.
