Referee Caught Watching Rival Match During Live Basketball Game

Controversy Erupts in Endesa League Match

A recent match in the Endesa League has sparked outrage and controversy after a fan recorded a video of an Instant Replay assistant referee watching a soccer match on his mobile phone during the game. The incident occurred during the Catalan derby between Girona and Lleida, which Girona won 85-90.

The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows the assistant referee watching the soccer match on his phone throughout the game, including during a crucial moment when the main referee was reviewing a play. This has led to accusations of unprofessionalism and a lack of respect for the game.

Lleida has issued a statement condemning the incident and announcing that they will be filing a report with the Endesa League. The statement read, “A basketball game is a job that deserves respect, and yesterday, at the referee’s table, it was not respected. We will issue a report to the ACB about the situation and the lack of respect it represents not only for the teams we played but for the league and the ACB itself.”

Lleida’s Coach Speaks Out

The match was already tense, with Lleida’s coach, Gerard Find, expressing his frustration with the referee team over the difference in free throws between the two teams. The visitors ended up shooting 44 free throws to the local team’s 27, which angered Find and led him to speak out at a press conference.

“I got angry because in the end, they were shooting free throws all the time, absolutely all the time,” Find said. The incident has sparked a heated debate about the professionalism and respect of referees in the Endesa League.
