A Simple yet Struggling Childhood
Ravi Kishan’s journey to success was not an easy one. In a recent interview, he shared his childhood experiences, revealing that he grew up in a mud hut with 12 people sharing one plate of Khichdi. This humble beginning has had a lasting impact on his life, and despite his current success, he still finds it difficult to indulge in luxury.
Overcoming Insults and Struggles
When Ravi Kishan moved to Mumbai, he had to survive on a meager diet of vada pav and tea. For 15 years, he worked in films for minimal pay, facing numerous insults and rejections. However, these experiences have shaped him into the person he is today. With over 750 films to his credit, Ravi Kishan has proven his mettle in the industry.
A Name Change for Survival
Ravi Kishan was asked about his decision to drop “Shukla” from his surname. He explained that it was a necessary step to secure work, as his original surname was not bringing him opportunities. At the time, earning a living was his top priority, and he did not worry about his surname.
Simple Tastes in Luxury Settings
Even today, when Ravi Kishan visits 7-star hotels, he prefers to order Khichdi, a dish that reminds him of his humble beginnings. He also prefers to wash his clothes himself, rather than sending them to the laundry. This simplicity is a testament to his middle-class roots, which he still holds dear.
A Middle-Class Mindset
Ravi Kishan admits that poverty is still a part of his life, and he has not forgotten his middle-class upbringing. While he is generous with his family, spending money on their luxury items, he is frugal when it comes to himself. His family members often buy him clothes, mobile phones, or other luxury items, as he prefers not to indulge in such expenses.
