King Mohamed VI recently led a meeting in Casablanca to discuss the revision of the Family Code, with a focus on enhancing the rights of women and minors. The monarch emphasized the importance of adopting innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of the Moroccan family.

The King has entrusted the head of the Government and relevant ministers with keeping the public informed about the progress of the revision. The legislative phase of the revision will be guided by the principles of justice, equality, solidarity, and coherence.

The reform aims to strengthen women’s rights and the best interests of the child, while being grounded in the principles of Islam and aligned with Morocco’s international commitments. The King seeks a modern code that balances religious and national constants with the need for modernization.
