Tennis at Paris 2024: IF Confirms Player List of 184 Athletes for Upcoming Olympic Games

Paris 2024 Olympic Games: Tennis Event Details Announced

A total of 41 countries with 184 players will be represented in the tennis event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The competition will take place on the clay courts of Roland Garros from July 27th to August 4th.

The event will feature 12 playing courts and six training courts at the French Federation’s facilities in the Bois de Boulogne. Notable entrants include Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, Iga Swiatek, and Coco Gauff. Lebanon will make its debut in the competition.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the doubles matches, including pairings such as Alcaraz and Nadal, Murray and Emma Raducanu, and Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari.

The event will be special for Andy Murray, a gold medallist in London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016, who will retire from professional tennis after the Olympics. Murray has received an invitation to the singles draw due to his impressive career.

The draw for the singles and doubles competitions will take place at Roland Garros on Thursday, July 25th, at 11am. Notable absences include Belarusians Aryna Sabalenka and Victoria Azarenka, Tunisian Ons Jabeur, and Russians Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov.

A Duo per Country

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will feature a significant change from the Tokyo Games, with only one pair per country competing in the mixed category. The final in Japan was an all-Russian affair, with Rublev and Pavlyuchenkova defeating their compatriots Karatsev and Vesnina.

Sold Out

Doubles and mixed matches will feature a super tie break in the third set, while singles will be played in a best-of-three sets format. Sessions will start at noon, with night sessions also scheduled. If the temperature exceeds 30 degrees, there will be a 10-minute break between the end of the second and third sets. The 307,000 available tickets have been sold out, and it is possible that the roof will be closed on Philippe Chatrier and Suzanne Lenglen courts.
