REAL OVEIDO FOCUSES ON FINDING NEW COACH AMIDST DEPARTURE DISRUPTION
Once the shock over Luis Carrión’s departure has been absorbed, Real Oviedo has refocused on hiring a new coach, aiming to maintain continuity with the work done last season.
“This institution is very large and does not stop, regardless of Carrión’s decision,” said Martín Peláez, the club’s president, affirming that the team is ready for any scenario.
The club is determined to close the deal for a new coach over the weekend, with the sports director Roberto Suarez, general director Agustín Lleida, and Jesus Martinez, president of the Pachuca Group, working together to evaluate proposals.
JOVANOVIC, PACHETA, LUIS GARCIA… among the top contenders
One potential coach on the radar is Slavisa Jokanovic, a former blue team player with a long and impressive coaching career. His familiarity with the team and the fans could be an added bonus.
Pacheta is another name being considered, but his reported reluctance to return to the Second Division and the challenges that come with it make his arrival less likely. Meanwhile, Luis Garcia, who has experience with the lower categories of Real Madrid and the first team of Espanyol, is also on the list of potential candidates.
Other contenders include Paco Jémez and Javier Calleja, but time is of the essence, with Real Oviedo aiming to finalize the name of their new coach by next Monday.
