Paula Badosa Rises to Top 100 with Bad Homburg Success

Tennis star Paula Badosa made the most of her opportunity at the WTA 500 in Bad Homburg on Tuesday, where she competed as a special invitee from the organization.

The Spaniard from Begur has advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Jule Niemeier in a thrilling match, winning 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.

Niemeier, a ‘lucky loser’ from the previous round, had upset top seed Maria Sakkari in the first round, showcasing her potential strength. However, in the second round, she faltered and delivered a double fault, allowing Badosa to seize the opportunity.

The victory propels Pol Toledo’s pupil 21 spots up the rankings, moving from 113 to 92. With continued success, she could further climb the rankings, depending on the outcome of her next match against Dayana Yastremska or Schnaider.
