Shorten the (still quite long) time until the release of GTA 6 with the excellent predecessor Grand Theft Auto V. GTA V was released in 2013 and still offers a lot of fun.

GTA 5 free on PS5 Plus
From December 19, 2023, you can get Grand Theft Auto V on Sony’s Playstation Plus Extra (monthly subscription: 13.99 euros/yearly subscription: 125.99 euros) and Premium (monthly subscription: 16.99 euros/year -Subscription 151.99 euros) for PS4 and PS5 free of charge. Sony writes:

GTA 5 free with Xbox Game Pass
However, Microsoft was significantly faster with its Game Pass and made GTA5 available to play for free on its consoles in January 2020. Microsoft later removed GTA 5 from the offer, but GTA 5 has been part of the Game Pass again since July 2023. You can play GTA 5 on Xbox One, Series S and Series X.

With “Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition”, Netflix is making three GTA game classics available to its subscribers for free. These can be found under Netflix Mobile Games, so you can only play them on mobile devices. The game collection includes GTA III, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas; but not GTA 5. A Netflix subscription is required to play the games. There are currently four different subscriptions to choose from in Germany.
- Netflix standard subscription with advertising for 4.99 euros/month: You can watch most of Netflix’s offerings with commercial breaks (up to 5 minutes per hour) on one device in 1080p. However, some films and series are not available in the subscription tier due to licensing restrictions.
- Netflix base for 7.99 euros/month: You can watch Netflix’s offerings on a device in 720p.
- Netflix standard for 12.99 euros/month: You can watch the content on up to two devices simultaneously with up to Full HD quality (1080p).
- Netflix Premium for 17.99 euros/month: The offer offers playback on up to four devices simultaneously in HD and Ultra HD quality (up to 4K + HDR)
