Just 4 days after the end of the World Cup, the 5-match T20 series between India and Australia began. Three games were played in this series. India won the first two games and Australia won the third game. But in the third game too, Team India was close to victory but Glenn Maxwell snatched the win. Now the fourth T20 match between these two teams will be played in Raipur and the fifth in Bengaluru.
Talking about this T20 series, Michael Hussey, a former and experienced Australian cricketer, says that there is no point in this series immediately after the World Cup. He called so much cricket happening around the world wrong. Hussey believes his best players are not playing in the ongoing T20 series against India. He said there are many Australian players who played in the World Cup and should have played in the T20 series too, but they returned home either to rest or to prepare for the next Test series. In such a situation, the best team in Australia is not ahead of the best team in India.
Apart from this, this former Australian batsman said that it is quite surprising that there is so much cricket being played around the world. It is physically and mentally impossible to participate in so many tournaments. At the same time, Mike Hussey, who played T20 league cricket for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL for years, says that ODI cricket should become more important in world cricket and there should be more games of this format. He said it was possible that most people would not support my point of view but ODI cricket was a wonderful format and the World Cup was a great example of it where incredible cricket was played.
