“If Maxwell hadn’t given 30 runs there wouldn’t have been a century…” why did captain Matthew Wade say that after the win?

IND vs OFF: Immediately after the end of the World Cup, a 5-match T20 series will be played between India and Australia, who will contest the World Cup final. The third match of this series was played in Guwahati on Tuesday, November 28, in which Australia won. Glenn Maxwell, the Australian team’s problem solver, brought this victory to Australia. In this game, Maxwell again played the same innings as in the World Cup game against Afghanistan. The only difference between Maxwell’s two innings is that he scored a double century in the ODI match against Afghanistan and scored a century in the T20 match against India.

Maxwell played a century innings

Maxwell played an unbeaten innings of 104 runs off 48 balls and led his team to victory. In this match, India scored 222 runs by losing 3 wickets in 20 overs in which Ruturaj Gaikwad played an unbeaten innings of 123 runs in 57 balls. In this India innings there were 30 runs in the last over only and that over was bowled by Glenn Maxwell. When Australia came to bat thereafter, their 5 wickets had fallen for 134 runs and the team was in trouble, but Maxwell single-handedly not only bailed the team out of trouble but also gave them a memorable win.

Captain recalled 30 crossings

After Maxwell’s match-winning century, Australian captain Matthew Wade said that if Maxwell had not conceded 30 runs in the 20th over, he would not have been able to score his century. Had Team India’s batsmen not scored 30 runs in Maxwell’s last over, Australia would not have had as many points to win in which Maxwell could complete his century. That’s why Matthew Wade said something like that. However, India won the first two games of this series and after that Australia won the third game. Now the fourth game of the series will be played in Raipur and the fifth game in Bengaluru.
