Xiaomi has just expanded its Redmi Note 12 series with one more model. The new Note 12R smartphone has just been available on the Chinese market, after it was detected last week on certification platforms.

Unsurprisingly, this is the first smartphone to hit the market with Qualcomm’s recently announced Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. Chip that, in turn, is paired with 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card slot.

The model already runs the MIUI 14 interface, based on the 13 operating system, and is powered by a 5,000 mAh capacity battery and support for fast charging of just 18 watts.

Xiaomi is known for offering good screens and the Redmi Note 12R is no exception, even if the specifications are modest. The IPS LCD Panel is 6.79 inches and provides Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz.

As for optics, the new 12R features a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a two-megapixel macro sensor. The front camera offers a resolution of five megapixels.

The Redmi Note 12R is already available for purchase in the Chinese market and its price starts at a very good 125 euros. The Chinese brand has not provided information on its global availability.
