Imagine Shah Rukh Khan bringing a guitar and microphone to the sets so that his co-actor, who is also a musician, can share his musical talents with everyone present. Well, it may look like a scene from a movie but it’s not a scene but it actually happened with the singer and actor Sanjita Bhattacharya on the sets of ‘Jawaan’.
Sanjita graduated from Berklee College Of Music. He is an emerging name in the world of music and has been seen displaying his acting prowess in ‘Feels Like Ishq’ with Sonali Bendre, ‘The Broken News’ and ‘Adbhut’ with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Now, in the coming days, she will be seen sharing the screen with veteran Shah Rukh Khan in the highly anticipated Bollywood film ‘Jawaan’, which is set to hit theaters in September 2023 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Although this movie belongs to Atlee and she cannot reveal much about her character in her action project, she will be seen playing a leading role in Shah Rukh Khan’s core team. In fact, Sanjita didn’t even know when she auditioned that she would be in a movie starring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Sanjita said that ‘I was in Calcutta for one of my concerts and I got a call from ‘Jawan’. A week later, I happened to audition in Mumbai without knowing much about the project. But then, I got a call from Mr. Casting Director Mukesh Chhabra’s office saying that he had been selected for the role. I was very happy and immediately answered yes to all the questions that came up after that. When I was told that SRK is the hero of the movie, it was hard to believe.
For Sanjeeta, working with SRK was “like a dream”. She said that whenever she spoke to the King of Bollywood, it was like “talking to a wise friend.” Along with this, Sanjita also fell in love with Shahrukh’s humility. “SRK is everything they told me it would be. He’s incredibly smart, funny, humble, relatable, and generous to his job. I never thought that I would be dancing, singing and drinking coffee with Shah Rukh Khan on a big film set. this is incredible.
According to Sanjita, Shahrukh made sure everyone was comfortable on the sets. “When he found out I was a musician, he brought a guitar and microphone to the set the next day so he could sing for the cast.”
Talking about the movie Jawan, it is one of the most anticipated movies of 2023. Directed by Atlee, this movie is the debut feature of the southern actress Nayantara. The dual role of Shahrukh is going to be seen in this movie. Actors like Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Yogi Babu and Sunil Grover will be seen in the film.
