Since the inception of T20 cricket, batsmen are now seen on the pitch with no fear of throwing the ball into any corner. Players like AB de Villiers, Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav have been seen doing this job quite easily so far. Now you see some similar shots in Test cricket too. Meanwhile, in the current Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) season, the shot taken by a batsman also surprised everyone.
In the 11th league game of the TNPL 2023 season, C Sarath Kumar, playing for Dindigul Dragons, fired a shot in his 12, making everyone remember Suryakumar Yadav. Chepauk Super Gillies team spinner Rocky Bhaskar tossed Sarath too far off the stump which nearly went wide. Sarath Kumar, who had decided to play the shot with this ball, took the ball out of bounds over the fine leg. Everyone must have been very impressed with the way Sarath played this shot.

The Dindigul Dragons team, playing under the captaincy of Ravichandran Ashwin, had lost half the team with a score of 63 at the same time. C Sarath Kumar, playing an innings of 25 runs on 21 balls, shared an important partnership of 61 runs for the sixth wicket with Ganesh. Due to which, the team was able to reach the score of 170 runs with the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.
Chasing the target of 171 runs, Chepauk Super Gillies were looking for a very strong position at one point. N Jagadishan’s wicket drop with a score of 87 gave the Dindigul side a chance to bounce back in the match. After this, Chepauk’s team continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, eventually losing the match by 1 run. Baba Aparajit definitely played a 74-run innings in the match for Chepauk. While bowling for Dindigul, Varun Chakraborty took 3 wickets while P Saravana Kumar took 2 wickets.
