India: Slain Muslim leaders Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf laid to rest

Lucknow: Brothers Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed, who were killed in police custody by Hindu extremists in India yesterday, were laid to rest.

Atiq Ahmed’s two minor sons participated in the funeral prayer and burial of the victims, but his widow Shaista Parveen did not participate.

According to the details, the funeral prayer and cremation of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were conducted last night after Isha prayer. Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed, who were killed by three accused, were buried in the Kisari Masari graveyard in the old city area of ​​Prayag Raj.

Remember that his son Asad Ahmed was also buried here last Saturday. This is the cemetery where all his ancestors are buried. Atiq was not allowed to attend his son’s last rites and a few hours later, the two brothers were also killed in police custody.

According to the Indian media, there was a heavy presence of police at the time of the burial. On this occasion, they were being allowed to enter the cemetery after seeing the identity cards of the people who came. Atiq Ahmed’s funeral was attended by his two minor sons Ajahan and Aban under police security. Is.

According to media reports, Atiq Ahmed’s widow Shaista Parveen was not present at the time of burial, who is an absconding accused in police records.

The dead bodies of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were handed over to their father-in-law and other relatives this evening after the post-mortem. Earlier, the post-mortem of Atiq and his brother was done at Swarup Rani Hospital.
