The end of House of the Dragon is already on the shelves of HBO, it could arrive much sooner than expected. The series, prequel to Game Of Thronesand which follows the fall of the Targaryen dynasty, highlights a cast comprising Matt Smith, Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy and a plethora of other comedians. When the series arrived in August 2022, it surpassed Euphoria to become the largest audience in the history of the platform HBO Max in just one day. Note of course that series like Game Of Thrones were broadcast on HBO, while HBO Max was still in the works. From, The Last Of Us to hit the ratings of the streaming platform.
According to Deadline, HBO focuses on long-term plans for its big streaks, so that after House of the Dragon season 2 is already in mind. It was recently said that the second season of House of the Dragon would be shortened to eight episodes, with a potential season 3 in sight, but HBO is already considering season 4. This could potentially mark the end of the series, although this was obviously planned by the production team from the beginning.

Given the success of House of the Dragon“only” four seasons may seem surprising, in comparison with Game Of Thrones. However, considering the show’s budget and huge production gap, this could still mean the show will last at least another five years.
