The electric motorcycle that folds and fits in the elevator

In the subway, in a shopping center or even in the portal of any house it is common to see folding bicycles, compact in size and light in weight, easily transportable and can be stored anywhere. Now, a company has transferred that concept to the world of electric motorcycles and presents the Hummingbird M22.

At first glance, it attracts attention for its minimalist design and square shapes, essential so that you can fold in on itself. The operation is really easy to do: first, the seat must be folded up, so that it rests on the tank. Then, you have to do the same with the rear axle, to the point that the wheels are almost stuck to each other.

The result is that, when folded, it is only 90 centimeters long and 130 centimeters high, so it can easily fit in an elevator. Of course, to fold it it is necessary to have previously removed the batteries; without them, it only weighs 30 kilos. With everything equipped, the figure rises to 79 kilos.

The company offers a modular battery system, which allows you to install up to three. With the trio coupled, the autonomy it offers is 200 kilometers, about 70 per module. These can also be recharged independently.

The batteries power a small 6,000-watt motor, which develops a power of 3 kW (4 hp) and a maximum torque of 18 Nm. It may not seem like much, but it does serve to allow you to reach up to 90 km/h.

This maximum speed is offered in the off-road mode, that squeezes the system to the maximum, but there are also two others with lower performance and more efficient: Eco (up to 32 km/h) and Dynamic (up to 50 km/h).

The Colibrí M22 has been created through a patronage project, and new orders are still accepted at its original price, which is 2,799 dollars (about 2,650 euros, to the current change).

It is an approved model for both the United States and Europe, and in Spain it will require at least the A1 card. Its production will begin in May and the first deliveries are expected to take place in August.
