The Golden Sate Warriors defeated the San Antonio Spurs 144-113, in a match played at the Alamodome and attended by 68,323 people, setting an attendance record for an NBA game.
The biggest attendance came thanks to a special game played at the Spurs’ former home at the Alamodome, which opened in 1993 as part of its 30th anniversary celebration. For this reason, the Spurs, who currently play at the AT&T Center, held the game at their old Alamodome, which has a capacity of 69,000 and where they played from 1993 to 2002. The previous record, of 62,046 attendees, was held by one game. at the Georgia Dome on March 27, 1998 between the Atlanta Hawks and Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls.
Golden State (21-21 and sixth in the West) led backups Jordan Poole and Donte DiVincenzo with 25 and 22 points, respectively, while Stephen Curry scored 15 points on 6/12 shooting from the field, and Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins each had 16.
Tre Jones led the Spurs (13-30 and second-last in the West) with 21 points, followed by Keldon Johnson with 17 and Doug MxcDermott with 14.
