The Tampa Bay buccaneers are the leaders of the NFC South going 6-8 after 15 weeks into the 2022 season of the nfl and they need help to improve to a positive record with three games to go.
Help could have come in the form of a historic NFL player. Todd Bowles, head coach of the Buccaneers, told The Tampa Bay Times that had a chat with Rob Gronkowski last month with the former player to discuss a possible return to the field.
“It was a conversation more than anything. Usually, when you have to think about whether you want to play, you probably don’t want to. When it’s a discussion, you don’t think about it too much,” said the head coach.
Among the weighted innings between the NFC South franchise and Gronkowski was the option of being part of the practice squad to acclimatize to high performance activity.
third comeback
If gronkowski decides to return at some point, it will be his third return after retiring twice. The first time he hung up his shoes was after the 2018 season while he was a member of the New England Patriots. Later, he put on the Buccaneers jersey to be part of the team that won Super Bowl LV and a year after obtaining the Vince Lombardi Trophy he said goodbye for the second time.

Tight ends on the insole
At the moment, the Buccaneers have veterans Kyle Rudolph and Cameron Brate along with rookies Ko Kieft and Cade Otton. After 14 games, Otton is the tight ends leader with 37 receptions for 357 yards and two scores. For his part, Kieft has started 10 games but has caught just seven of nine passes thrown his way for 80 yards and a TD.
