Despite crypto winter, SHIB adds 250K users

Despite the crypto market going through a rough time, Shiba Inu (SHIB) has added over 250,000 new holders.

2022 not the best year for SHIB

Last year in November, Shiba Inu managed to reach an important milestone of 1 million owners. Partly because of this, the coin increased significantly in value during 2021.

According to WhaleStats, a platform that tracks and tracks data from the crypto market, there are currently 1,257,121 Shiba Inu holders in total. Over the past 12 months, more than 250,000 of these holders have been added.

While users may have been impressed by the astonishing rally in 2021 and decided to get on board, the same could not (yet) be said in 2022. Although the year still has a month left, major changes are not expected.

More than half hold tokens for >1 year

WhaleStats data also shows a dynamic shift in the composition of SHIB holders. For example, 56% of all holders now own their SHIB tokens for at least 1 year.

It is worth mentioning that SHIB was launched in August of 2020. The crypto currency has therefore only existed for 2 years. This does imply that these owners came on board when SHIB gained traction and have kept their tokens ever since.

Despite the significant drop in price for the SHIB token and cryptocurrencies across the board, 2022 has seen plenty of achievements for the Shiba Inu ecosystem, such as the SHIB-Metaverse, the Welly’s Fast Food integration, and numerous new “partner shibs.” It is not yet known what the next step will be in this, but the altcoin is making nice strides.
