Mysterious bitcoin miner shares BTC signature from 2009

On October 31, 2008, a nine-page white paper explained the idea behind Bitcoin (BTC). After several months of hard work, the first block of the new electronic was mined on January 3, 2009 peer to peer monetary system. At that time, the first fifty BTC entered the market, a historic event.

On January 12, 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous creator of Bitcoin, sends 10 BTC to computer programmer Hal Finney. This is the first real person-to-person transaction on the Bitcoin network.

The world famous forum called Bitcointalk.org was where Satoshi Nakamoto and other early contributors teamed up to discuss and create a disruptive financial system from scratch. On this forum someone recently started a topic with the aim of identifying early bitcoin miners. The question of who owns or had the oldest mined bitcoin was asked on the Bitcoin forum.

Oldest Bitcoin signature

Much to the surprise of many, an anonymous account called “OneSignature” had responded with a signature that landed under a block a week after the network’s birth.

The anonymous account had no activity on Bitcointalk.org until the time of the comment, prompting the notion that the account was created purely for the comment in question. On the social media platform Twitter there is also an account under the name ‘OneSignature’ which, remarkably enough, was created in October 2009. The profile picture of this account also consists of the text ‘Don’t trust anyone‘ which fits perfectly into the philosophy of a bitcoiner.

The revelation of this signature confirms that the people involved in building Bitcoin closely monitor the ecosystem and try to pique the curiosity of the general public from time to time.

From Satoshi Nakamoto?

However, the chance that this concerns Satoshi Nakamoto is very small. To this day it is still a great mystery who invented the decentralized currency. Earlier you could read in the Bitcoin news that Craig Wright could not prove that he was the creator of Bitcoin and with that he lost the lawsuit against Magnus Granath, known as Hodlonaut. Satoshi Nakamoto most likely deliberately chose to remain anonymous so that he could not be seen as the leader of the system.
