Today the Cardano Vasil Hard Fork goes live

Cardano is ready to put the highly anticipated Vasil hard fork live. The upgrade will introduce major changes to the blockchain and will play an important role in improving network processing and overall scalability.

The Cardano Vasil hard fork upgrade is ready for launch

It won’t be long until the Cardano Vasil Hard Fork goes live. So the upgrade is finally launched, after it has been delayed several times in recent months. Today, however, the day has finally arrived for the upgrade to be rolled out. The company behind Cardano, IOHK, also confirms that everything is ready to launch the upgrade.

IOHK wrote on Twitter that all three key indicators, which were important for the launch of the upgrade, are colored green. This leaves the team ready to roll out the upgrade later in the day.

In addition, according to IOHK, 13 cryptocurrency exchanges have been upgraded to the current network version, representing nearly 87% of ADA liquidity.

The Cardano hard fork is unique

Unlike other typical hard fork upgrades that usually split the computing resources and duplicate the data of the digital assets, Cardano’s Vasil hard fork is unique. This is because it uses a special hard fork combiner, also called HFC technology, which allows the upgrade to a new protocol version without rebooting.

So this means that when Cardano upgrades to the new Vasil version, the new rules introduced by the upgrade will be changed automatically without changing or altering the history of the blockchain.

The Vasil hard fork has been called one of the most important upgrades for Cardano ever. The upgrade was originally scheduled to go live in June, but was delayed several times to fix major bugs. Now that the hard fork is finally going live, ADA investors will breathe a sigh of relief. It’s hard to say what it will do to the price, but most people expect it to turn out positive.
