Motorola chose the day after Apple’s presentation (September 7) to launch the new Edge series models globally.
It will then be on September 8 that Europe can receive the first smartphone with a 200 megapixel super sensor.
Edge 30 Ultra: Motorola’s most anticipated smartphone
It seems that the first smartphone with a 200-megapixel super sensor will hit the world market sooner than expected. Motorola has just announced a press conference for September 8, in which it will reveal new features in its Edge series.
The most anticipated model is undoubtedly the Edge 30 Ultra, which is already available in China under the trade name X30 Pro. This model is therefore expected to be the highlight of the presentation and will be available immediately in all corners of the world.
If its arrival is confirmed on September 8, Motorola will be able to surpass its rival Xiaomi by providing, first of all, a smartphone with a 200-megapixel sensor that, for now and before the arrival of the Xiaomi 12T Pro model, is the only one to provide this super resolution.
In the configuration of the rear camera, the new Edge 30 Ultra will then have the Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor of 200 megapixels and 1/1.22 inches in size, an ultra wide angle that also works as a macro with 50 megapixels and a telephoto sensor. 12 megapixels and 2x. optical zoom On the front there will be a camera with an incredible resolution of 60 megapixels.
Another of the highlights of this new terminal is its 4,610 mAh battery that will integrate support for 125-watt fast charging, 50-watt wireless charging and 10-watt reverse charging. Motorola bets everything.
The spec list continues with the 6.7-inch OLED screen that provides a 144Hz refresh rate and a DC dimming panel. Otherwise, the Edge 30 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor that is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.
Edge 30 Fusion is another novelty, but Razr 2022 will not be released
Apparently, the news on September 8 will focus solely on the Edge family. And if the information is confirmed, Europe will have to wait a little longer to receive the new folding Razr 2022.
But the Edge 30 Fusion (or S30, as it is known in the Chinese market), will be another of the protagonists of the conference. This terminal has less advanced arguments and, consequently, less attractive than its counterpart Edge 30 Ultra.
Although it has the same LPDDR5 RAM with up to 12 GB and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, it has a different processor, being equipped with the Snapdragon 888+.
It’s also more modest optically, with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The 4,400 mAh battery is supported by 68-watt fast charging support and the 6.55-inch OLED screen offers Full HD+ resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate.
Unfortunately, there is no information on the prices at which both Motorola models can reach the European market, but it is possible that these data will be revealed in the coming days.
