The O&M University took advantage of the tiredness of Cibao FC, who played three games in the week, to prevail by a 0-3 win in the Liguilla match held on Saturday night at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra stadium.
The victory keeps the students alive, who are looking for one of the four places for the semifinal.
Cibao FC, despite the defeat, remains in second position with 9 points, while O&M University added three points and now totals 6.
The university eleventh had a brace from Cuban Arichell Hernández, who made it 0-1 with a goal in the 20th minute of the match.
Only a minute later, at 21, the player Kensy Guerrero put the second of the match for the visitors.
With that comfortable 0-2 lead, they went to the dressing rooms to study the strategies to follow.
But it was the O&M University that at minute 61 of additional time, scored the second by Arichell Hernández, for the definitive and forceful 0-3.
The previous Liguilla game between Cibao FC and O&M University was tied 1-1.
Cibao comes from playing on Saturday against Atlético Vega Real who they beat 3-0 and on Wednesday against Motagua from Honduras, who lost 0-1 in the Concacaf Champions League.
This Saturday, without the required rest, it was up to O&M, a match they lost overwhelmingly.
