‘Shane Warne must be proud of me’, the Australian leg spinner made a big statement

Australian Alana King paid tribute to the great Shane Warne. Alana, who scored her first hat-trick in the women’s season of The Hundred, helped her team Trent Rockets win 43 races over Manchester Originals. As well as taking 4/15 of 20 balls, Alana made a brilliant diving catch and scored 19 runs on nine balls to give Manchester a respectable target.

Alana began to take the wicket sending Cordelia Griffith (12) into the pavilion, after which she made her victim without opening count and brought down Kate Cross, who completed her brilliant hat-trick. If Trent Rockets Ellie Threlkeld could have taken four wickets in four balls if he had gone for a LBW review.

After the match was over, Alana paid tribute to the late Shane Warne in March this year and said that wherever he is, he should be proud of my stellar performance against Manchester Originals.

Incidentally, Alana scored her hat-trick at The Hundred on the same ground where Warne had bowled the ball of the century. He surprised Englishman Mike Gatting in the 1993 series Ashes.
