Abu Dhabi: Inspectors of Jeddah Municipal Council in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, raided a well-known restaurant in the city and recovered expired meat.
The Chairperson of Jeddah Municipal Council under the Municipality, Izzat Al-Asbali, has said that a quarter ton of expired meat was recovered from a fast food restaurant in Al-Zahra neighborhood, which was unfit for human consumption.
Al-Asbali added that the management of the restaurant was not adhering to the sanitation system, the cleanliness of the area where the food items were stored was substandard.
The local council took legal action against the restaurant for the violation, confiscated the spoiled meat and destroyed it.
Municipal council inspectors are conducting raids on commercial and food establishments these days and ensuring compliance with prescribed rules and regulations.
