One of the biggest figureheads of recent crypto bull run were the non-fungible tokens (NFT). For some people this cryptocurrency class was synonymous with speculative pictures, for some crypto fans they are still a symbol of what crypto stands for: discovering new possibilities.
Bored Ape Yacht Club (BYAC) is one of the most popular NFT projects. Rappers Eminem and Snoop Dogg are also part of this exclusive club and their Bored Ape NFTs appear in a new music video.
Weed and Bored Ape NFTs
In Eminem and Snoop Dogg’s new music video called ‘From The D 2 The LBC’, change the two rappers under the influence of a large portion of weed in their Bored Ape NFTs. The title honors the two rappers’ cities, Detroit (Michigan) and Long Beach (California). The music video in question can be seen below:
The rap world is notorious for infighting, and Eminem is often the linchpin of this. In 2020, Snoop Dogg revealed his top 10 greatest rappers of all time, and his old friend Eminem wasn’t in it. This resulted, among other things, in Eminem’s song “Zeus,” in which he made fun of Snoop Dogg. Now that the new single is out, it’s immediately clear that they’ve buried the hatchet.
Snoop Dogg was also in the news recently because het Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson brought NFTs to Cardano. The rapper has been very active in the crypto world for a long time. The same applies to Eminem, who bought a Bored Ape NFT at the beginning of this year for half a million in ether (ETH).
NFT more than monkey pictures?
Yet NFTs are much more than just ‘nice pictures’. In principle, you can make a unique token on the blockchain from everything around you, such as art, videos, music, and even games.
For example, record label Universal Music lets artists make NFTs of their music. For artists, NFTs are a new way to regain control over their work, without record labels automatically taking the bulk of the revenue. Real estate can now also be found on the blockchain, and NFTs are already being incorporated in games.
