Xiaomi is apparently working on a new way to make life easier for smartphone users.
Now a Chinese brand patent has been detected that shows an improved version of the fingerprint reader on the side of the equipment.
Xiaomi may have a solution for the problems of the side fingerprint readers

As it has been showing over time, Xiaomi listens to the needs of users and tries to optimize any functionality present in their smartphones. Apparently, it may now be dedicating itself to improving the fingerprint reader, located on the side of smartphones.
At least, that is what the patent application now detected suggests, which shows an optimized version of this functionality that can solve the problem common to this type of resource: reduced space.
Fingerprint readers of this type are generally limited to the on/off button space they are inserted into. This can sometimes pose problems for sturdier fingers that cannot place the entire surface of the fingerprint to read.
But, according to the documentation now released, Xiaomi could be working on a solution that covers a larger lateral area, in which users can place their finger and, thus, the fingerprint can be scanned, without any inconvenience.
New technology results in more effective readings and avoids false positives
The technology present in the patent extends the width of the sensor, which translates into a faster, more practical and, above all, more efficient reading.
On the other hand, a larger area also prevents the sensor from performing false positive authentications, which is often the case with a smaller area.
There is also the doubt that solutions such as the placement of the fingerprint reader integrated into the screen represent a greater expense for brands. Of course, in the premium segment of smartphones this is not a problem, but the same does not happen with the mid and low ranges.
This will then be a technology that, in the future, will not only make life easier for users, but will also be an effective solution for brands that have to maintain the production of their mid-range and low-end smartphones with (low ) controllable. costs
