The Chinese manufacturer led by Lei Jun recently announced the new range of smartphones Xiaomi 12 in Europe. After the official presentation of the equipment on December 28, 2021 in China, the trio of terminals android now it reaches our market, with some models already in the Mi Store stores.
This trio of teams is now awarded with scores of excellence that give them the degree of Excellence according to the DisplayMate entity, a reference company in the sector of analysis and technical specialization to the different types of screens and sample in the market. This is the latest distinction given to Xiaomi’s new top-of-the-range phones.
“Excellence” on the screens of the new Xiaomi 12 smartphones
It is, therefore, an important quality guarantee for these screens that equip the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphones, as well as the most affordable model, the Xiaomi 12X. It should also be noted that all three will hit stores in Portugal soon.
More specifically, according to DisplayMate, the visual quality of these screens is “indistinguishable from perfection” in 7 criteria evaluated by the platform in question.
In fact, all three models got an excellent score and an A+ rating, with the cheapest model, the Xiaomi 12X, falling short of the other models in only one of the tests.

The best models are the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro whose screens can reproduce 68 billion different tones. In other words, they are the first smartphones in the world to reproduce 12-bit color, something that deserves all the attention and prominence.
However, to take advantage of the capabilities of these screens we need footage/content that has been recorded in Dolby Vision format. Only then can we enjoy the greatest depth of color ever seen on a smartphone.
On the other hand, both smartphones already have Dolby Vision certification, so they will take advantage of all the content that has been recorded and produced in accordance with this standard. So, if you are an avid consumer of movies and series on your phone, Xiaomi’s new smartphones are a great choice.
High resolution and great maximum brightness in Xiaomi 12
The Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphone has the highest resolution of this trio at 1,440 x 3,200 pixels. Its panel reaches a brightness of 980 nits in normal conditions and, in case of need, it can reach 1500 nits (peak). In practice, this translates into excellent visibility outdoors, especially when the sun is shining directly on the screen.
In addition, the Chinese manufacturer assured to factory calibrate all the screens that make up the Xiaomi 12 range. In this way, the color balance, reproduction and tonal depth will be close to the reference values in the industry with almost total coverage of sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces.
The new Xiaomi 12 smartphones arrive in Portugal at the beginning of April 2022, with the pre-sale regime starting in mid-March.
