The Google search page has always been characterized by its minimalist design, but that may change.
Apparently, the North American giant is testing a series of widgets that can appear on the search page of the desktop version.
Six new widgets for the Google search home page

The home page of the Google search engine has always been characterized by its simplicity and minimalist design. But it seems that the company Alphabet has other plans in mind and is currently testing a series of widgets that can appear on the home page of the search engine, in the desktop version.
The information comes through the 9to5Google site that I am already the new resource. According to that site, the widgets will appear in the lower right corner of the page and there will also be the option to “hide content”.
The same source reveals that there will be six new widgets and that they will all show more information as soon as the cursor hovers over them. Apparently, there will be a weather widget, which includes the temperature and forecast for the next three days, a trend which will be a cover image with the search count, and another widget with suggestions for shows and movies to watch.
The remaining three widgets will include financial information with graphs, current events with indications of places and dates, and finally, news about the Covid-19.
For now, only a few users can test this new feature, which indicates that the company may be testing the feature and collecting feedback and then implementing (or not) this feature on the page.
Google releases free Chrome OS Flex tool

Yesterday, Google also announced the new free Chrome OS Flex tool that turns old PCs and Macs into modern Chromebooks or Chromeboxes. Users can install Chrome OS Flex through the USB port or over the network. In the case of the first option, the device will need to be booted directly from the USB drive.
According to the research giant, the tool is compatible with both Windows and Mac environments and requires some minimum requirements like 16GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM.
Also according to Google, Chrome OS Flex works with devices up to a decade old and with x86 from Intel or AMD, but not ARM.
