BOE reveals a monitor with a refresh rate that will blow your mind

BOE is a Chinese company dedicated to the development of screens. Its products can be found in various smartphones of Eastern origin, such as in the gaming monitor market.

Now, according to the BOE Innovation Exchange website, the Chinese company has unveiled a prototype of the most impressive monitor ever. A product that stands out for its incredible refresh rate of 500 Hz.

The world’s first monitor with a 500 Hz refresh rate arrives

The record in this segment was already held by BOE and its 360 Hz gaming monitor. This was already an impressive refresh rate, but the Chinese company felt it was time to raise the bar even higher.

Thus was born the first monitor with an impressive refresh rate of 500 Hz. This means that the image reproduced on this panel will be updated 500 times per second.

To further emphasize the absurdity of these values, your graphics will need to send a frame every 2 milliseconds to get the most out of this monitor. By comparison, a 144Hz monitor receives a frame every 6.95 milliseconds.

The prototype revealed by BOE has a 27-inch diagonal panel. Its resolution will be Full-HD, which means that the company has focused more on the panel’s refresh rate than on its resolution.

As for the technology of that screen, the company was not clear in its description. It is only known that it will not be OLED, with all the technical details revealed pointing to a TFT panel.

The reveal of a monitor with such a refresh rate leads us to the same discussion about the difference between 4K and 8K panel. That is, will the user be able to tell the difference between a 360 Hz panel and a 500 Hz panel?

The answer can only be given when a monitor with these capabilities becomes available for sale. However, nothing guarantees us that the prototype presented by the BOE will become a product for sale.
