Xiaomi usually releases several updates not only for the Android operating system but also for the MIUI interface, but the terminals with MediaTek processors receive fewer updates.
But it seems that this time the Chinese brand will be just as generous and these MediaTek models will receive both Android 12 and MIUI 13.
Redmi 9, Redmi Note 9 and POCO M2 receive updates for Android 12 and MIUI 13
Traditionally, Xiaomi is quite generous in providing updates for its smartphones powered by Qualcomm processors, providing two updates for the Android operating system and three updates for the brand’s MIUI interface.
However, also out of habit, the Chinese brand is not so generous with smartphones equipped with MediaTek processors. These could be the last big updates for these terminals
The information comes through the Xiaomiui website and suggests that the Chinese brand, this year, wants to release more updates for its budget smartphones. It should be remembered that the Chinese manufacturer sometimes does not even release Android updates and is limited to only offering an update to the MIUI interface for the most affordable terminals.
However, with the Redmi 9, Redmi Note 9 and POCO M2 models, the story has been different. Previously, these terminals already received Android 11, as well as MIUI 12. And precisely for this reason, the updates now available for the Google operating system and the Xiaomi Interface are most likely the last major updates that will come to these models.
