Sri Lankan team suffered major setback, Perera withdrew from international cricket ahead of India tour

Dilruwan Perera has done wonders for Sri Lanka in Test cricket with both the ball and bat. Perera has represented the national team in all three formats. He announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket effective immediately. In his letter to Sri Lanka Cricket, Perera said: “He will continue to play domestic cricket.” Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said in a statement: “Best wishes to him for his future.”

We report that Perera has played 43 Tests, 13 ODIs and 3 T20 internationals for Sri Lanka. In test cricket, Perera has taken 1,303 runs and 161 wickets with the help of seven half-centuries. At the same time, he took 13 wickets in 13 ODIs and three wickets in T20 Internationals.

In Test cricket, Perera took five or more wickets in an innings eight times and twice took 10 or more wickets in a Test. Perera made his ODI debut for the first time in 2007 against England in Colombo. At the same time, he made his Test debut against Pakistan in Sharjah in 2014 and scored 95 runs batting at No. 8. Perera gave his best performance against South Africa. His last Test was also held at the same venue in January last year.
