Samsung abandons the Snapdragon processor in one of its most popular smartphones

Following the launch of the high-end line Galaxy S22, Samsung will channel efforts to the lower segments. At stake is the Galaxy A line that should have the Galaxy A53, one of the most popular of the brand in 2022.

Preparing for the launch, this Samsung Galaxy A53 has already passed through the Geekbench platform. It was through this that we confirmed the presence of the Exynos 1200 processor inside.

Samsung Galaxy A53 will come equipped with Exynos 1200 processor

As we can see from the shared results, the Samsung Galaxy A53 has a processor with two cores at 2.4GHz and six cores at 2GHz. It also uses the Mali-G68 graphics GPU which is commonly used in South Korean processors. .

Indeed, there is an output of Qualcomm processors in one of the teams with the greatest potential of the brand by 2022. A strategy in line with the company’s declared intention to give primacy to its own processors.

It was at the end of last year that the first rumors of a strategic change by Samsung emerged. The intention would be to broaden the spectrum of influence of Exynos processors to the detriment of Snapdragon, even in their lower ranges.

It’s worth noting that the Galaxy A5x has a history of launching globally with Qualcomm processors. Take for example the Samsung Galaxy A52s which hit the market with a Snapdragon 778G.

Galaxy A53 could launch with two processors

Still, some rumors point to a strategy similar to that of its top-of-the-range lineup. That is, the next Samsung Galaxy A53 could be launched with two versions: one with Snapdragon and another with Exynos.

The one that will come equipped with the US processors will be sold in select markets. The version with Exynos 1200 will be intended for most markets, namely Europe.

It is certain that the Galaxy A53 will even have a variant with the Exynos 1200 processor. We will have to wait for its launch to see if this SoC will be valid in all markets or only in some.
